My "Log Line"

One of my closest friends is a brand strategist. We often jam on this idea that the best stories can be told in one-line. In film, it's called a log line: a one-sentence summary that piques your interest enough to want to watch the movie.

These ideas made me think, "what is my log line?" The answer always evolves, and any answer requires honesty on who you are and why you do what you do. So…what's the log line for "Me?"

Christian Jackson connects the dots to reveal efficiencies.

...like stars in a constellation. 🌌

Born and raised in Los Angeles County,

the 405 and 5 freeways raised me, commuting with my dad to and fro' auditions. My dad came up in an environment without a lot of structure, and grew himself into someone able to provide structure and presence to a family of 6 through his own internal drive. In many ways, his example inspired my passion for business and the path l've been on for the past 5 years.

I've been blessed to graduate on full-ride scholarship from Loyola Marymount University, closing that season of life with the Valedictorian Address to my Class of 2022. Immediately after, I spent a year working and teaching alongside the founder of Kinko's, Paul Orfalea.

Something I came to realize during that time...

is that nothing grinds my gears like inefficiency.

Inefficiency in education...

in social markets...

in communication...

Hell, even in Los Angeles traffic.

These are the problems that I love to solve, both for myself and for others.

Is tech the most efficient way to solve inefficiency?

I'd argue it's not the tech itself, but how we adopt it that matters.

I operate on these two theses—

  1. Simple solves. As ingrained in me since childhood, "keep it simple, stupid."

  2. Those who fail fast-and learn the fastest-generate the biggest impact. As a recovering perfectionist, I know the pain in failing, especially in public. In recovery, I overcame that pain by focusing on an idea greater than myself-inspiring those around me to fail forward.

These days,

I spend the majority of my time scaling Edapt, a workflow software solution that helps film and media producers build reputation as people who deliver on-time and under-budget.

In my free time, I'll be chatting with friends about the Lakers, digging the crates for souldies, or finding an escape on the basketball court.

With anticipation,

Me.
